Triple Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour

1 ¾ cups (350g) granulated sugar

¾ cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 cup (240ml) buttermilk

½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup (240ml) hot coffee or hot water

For the Chocolate Ganache:

8 oz (225g) dark chocolate, chopped

1 cup (240ml) heavy cream

For the Chocolate Frosting:

1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened

3 ½ cups (440g) powdered sugar

½ cup (45g) cocoa powder

½ cup (120ml) heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch (23 cm) cake pans.

2. Make the cake batter: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

3. Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Stir in hot coffee or water. The batter will be thin.

4. Bake: Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool completely.

5. Prepare the ganache: Heat heavy cream until hot but not boiling. Pour over chopped chocolate and stir until smooth. Let cool until slightly thickened.

6. Make the frosting: Beat butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, heavy cream, and vanilla. Beat until smooth and fluffy.

7. Assemble the cake: Place one cake layer on a plate, spread with ganache, then add the second layer. Frost the entire cake with chocolate frosting.

8. Decorate as desired and enjoy!
