Ingredients:
1 lb squid, cleaned and cut into rings or strips
1/2 onion, sliced
1 green chili pepper, sliced (optional)
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon sesame oil
Sesame seeds for garnish
For the Sauce:
2 tablespoons red pepper paste
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon rice wine
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions:
Prepare the squid: Clean the squid thoroughly and cut it into rings or strips. Marinate the squid in rice wine for 10 minutes.
Make the sauce: In a small bowl, combine the chilli flakes, chili paste, soy sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well.
Stir-fry: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the onion, and green chili pepper (if using). Stir-fry for about 2 minutes until the vegetables start to wilt.
Add squid: Add the marinated squid and the seasoning paste to the skillet. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until the squid turns opaque and curls up.
Finish: Remove from heat and drizzle with sesame oil. Garnish with sesame seeds.
Serve: Serve hot with a bowl of rice
