# Ingredients

3. *1/4 teaspoon baking powder*

4. *1/4 teaspoon baking soda*

5. *1/2 cup vegetable oil*

6. *1/2 cup water*

7. *1/4 cup grated shrimp or small shrimp, peeled and chopped (optional)*

8. *1/4 cup grated kalabasa (zucchini or squash)*

9. *1/4 cup chopped spring onions (optional)*

10. *1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)*

# Instructions

1. *Combine dry ingredients*: In a bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.

2. *Add wet ingredients*: Gradually add water and mix until a smooth batter forms.

3. *Add shrimp and kalabasa*: Fold in chopped shrimp and kalabasa.

4. *Heat oil*: In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.

5. *Drop batter*: Using a spoon, drop small amounts of batter into the oil, about 1/4 cupfuls.
