No Bake Chocolate Tart Recipe
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 8-12 servings
Prep Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients
For the crust:
2 ½ cups Oreo cookie crumbs (about 26 Oreo cookies)
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For the chocolate filling:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 cups bittersweet chocolate, chopped
¼ cup unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Directions
To make the crust:
Prepare the Oreo crumbs:
Finely crush the whole Oreo cookies in a food processor until they form fine crumbs.
Add the melted butter and blend until the mixture is well moistened.
Form the crust:
Press the crumb mixture onto the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart pan. Lightly grease the edges of the pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
Place the tart pan in the freezer while you prepare the chocolate filling.
To make the chocolate filling:
Prepare the chocolate:
Place the chopped bittersweet chocolate in a medium heatproof bowl and set aside.
Heat the cream and butter:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring the heavy cream and butter to a low boil.
Combine cream and chocolate:
Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the hot cream mixture over the chopped chocolate.
Let it stand for 1 minute to allow the chocolate to soften. Then, slowly stir with a spatula until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
Fill the crust:
Pour the chocolate mixture over the chilled Oreo crust, spreading it evenly.
Chill the tart:
Refrigerate the tart until the chocolate filling is set, at least 2 hours or overnight.
Serve:
Serve the tart chilled, sprinkled with chocolate curls for an extra touch of elegance.
Notes
Make Ahead:
You can prepare the tart a day in advance. It can be tightly covered and kept in the fridge for up to 3 days.
