Blueberry Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Ingredients:
2 slices bread (sourdough, whole wheat, or your preferred choice)
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup fresh blueberries
1 tablespoon honey
2 slices provolone cheese
Directions:
Begin by preheating a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Place one slice of bread, butter side down, on the skillet or griddle.
Spread the softened cream cheese evenly over the bread slice on the skillet.
In a small bowl, mash the fresh blueberries with a fork until they release their juices slightly. Stir in the honey.
Spread the blueberry mixture over the cream cheese layer on the bread slice.
Place the slices of provolone cheese on top of the blueberry mixture.
Place the second slice of bread on top, butter side up.
Cook until the bottom slice of bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted.
Carefully flip the sandwich over and cook until the other side is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is completely melted.
Remove from the skillet or griddle and let cool slightly before serving.
Slice the sandwich in half diagonally and serve warm.
