Cheesy Meat and Potato Casserole .
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef or turkey
4 cups russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup beef or chicken broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp dried thyme
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 tbsp butter, melted
1 tbsp olive oil
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the onion until soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
Add ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream and broth. Set aside.
Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the beef mixture and half of the shredded cheese. Repeat layers.
Pour the cream mixture evenly over the casserole and top with melted butter.
Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown.
Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
