WOULD YOU EAT THIS CLASSIC SAUSAGE, PEPPERS, AND ONIONS

Ingredients:
4-6 Italian sausages (mild or spicy)
2 bell peppers (red, green, or yellow), sliced
1 large onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup chicken broth (optional for added flavor)
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Hoagie rolls (optional for serving)
Instructions:
Cook the Sausages:

Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté the Peppers and Onions:

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tbsp olive oil. Add the sliced bell peppers and onions, cooking for 5-7 minutes until softened. Stir in the minced garlic, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes (if using), and salt and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
Deglaze the Pan (Optional):

Add chicken broth to the skillet to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the broth is slightly reduced.
Combine and Serve:

Return the sausages to the skillet, nestling them among the peppers and onions. Let everything cook together for 5-7 minutes, until the sausages are cooked through and the flavors meld together.
Serve:

Serve the sausage, peppers, and onions as is, or on hoagie rolls for a delicious sandwich. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Helpful Tips:
Extra Flavor: Add a splash of balsamic vinegar or a drizzle of marinara sauce for a tangy twist.
Make It a Meal: Serve with a side of pasta or garlic bread for a full Italian-inspired dinner
